California Bureau of Cannabis Control Releases Proposal for Permanent Cannabis Regulations
Today the California Bureau of Cannabis Control released their proposal for the permanent cannabis regulations marking the beginning of a 45 day public comment period. All three of the regulatory agencies, the BCC, the California Department of Public Health, and the California Department of Food & Agriculture, have set forth the guidelines that vary slightly from the emergency cannabis regulations established in December of 2017.
Lori Ajax, the Chief Officer for the BCC, notes that, “The emergency rulemaking process provided an opportunity to evaluate how the rules were working for businesses throughout the supply chain. The regulations we now propose include changes that make it easier for businesses to operate and strengthen public health and safety policies.”
The emergency cannabis regulations were re-adopted in June of 2018 and will remain in effect until the permanent cannabis regulations process is complete. Find out more about some the changes being proposed in the permanent regulations by reviewing the Bureau of Cannabis Control’s Proposed Changes.
The big three cannabis agencies, BCC, CDPH, and, will be conducting public hearings to hear comments starting late July through the end of August. We’ve provided a list of the public hearings below but written comments can also be submitted via email and mail.
